Dear Friends and Family,

We have the opportunity to come together to support one of our own—a man who has dedicated his life to serving and protecting others, but who now needs our help. Jamil Van, a devoted Police Officer in the Whitpain Township Police Department, Pennsylvania, has spent his career safeguarding his community. He has always been a beacon of strength, resilience, and compassion, whether on the job or in his personal life.

My connection with Jamil goes back decades. I first met him when he was just 6 years old, and he became one of my campers at Camp Dreamcatcher when he was 13. Over the years, I’ve watched him grow into an exceptional man, father of four, and public servant. I could not be prouder of the person he has become.

Unfortunately, Jamil has faced an incredibly difficult road over the past 18 months. He has endured a stroke, undergone three surgeries, and faced a series of other major health complications. These challenges have taken him away from the work he loves and left him fighting to care for his family and maintain stability. Despite his struggles, Jamil has done everything in his power to provide for his four children—three of whom are under 8 years old.

Jamil’s humility and strength are unparalleled, but his situation is dire. He has been reluctant to share the full extent of his struggles, believing others are more deserving of help. However, he is now at risk of losing his home, and we cannot stand by while one of our own faces this fight alone.

Jamil is determined to heal, return to the job he loves, and continue serving his community and family. But right now, he needs us. We are aiming to raise as much as we can to help with groceries, bills, and other essentials so he can focus on his recovery without the weight of financial stress. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make an incredible difference in his life.
